Grandparents’ Day

21st Jan 2026

Grandparents’ Day was a truly special occasion in our school. The children were filled with excitement as they eagerly awaited the arrival of their grandparents, ready to welcome them, show them their classrooms and share a little glimpse of their school day.

The morning began with a beautiful prayer service, during which the children sang hymns with great pride and enthusiasm. This was followed by a heartfelt presentation where classes performed a song, recited a poem, and a few pupils had the lovely opportunity to stand up and share what makes their grandparents so special to them. It was a touching moment that brought plenty of smiles and perhaps a few happy tears.

After the service, our grandparents were treated to delicious homemade scones, freshly prepared by Frances, Margaret and Sarah. This gave the grandparents a chance to chat and enjoy some quality time together. Thank you to Rose for helping on her day off!

Finally, grandparents visited the classrooms, where they met the teachers and saw some of the children’s work. The pupils were delighted to show off their books, displays and favourite learning activities. Some grandparents spent time to chat to the class and tell the children something about them that the grandchildren might not know.

It was a wonderful morning filled with joy, gratitude and togetherness. We are incredibly thankful to all the grandparents who took the time to join us and make the day so memorable.
