As part of our Growth topic, the children have been learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. Many thanks to Aisling for organising a butterfly project where the children observed caterpillars grow, change into chrysalides and finally emerge as butterflies. It has been so heart‑warming to watch the excitement this brought to the classroom, with daily observations and great delight when the butterflies emerged. They were even christened with names: Frank, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mira, Rosey and Lion! Today we set the butterflies free and the care and concern shown by the children truly sums up the nature of the wonderful children in Killyhommon.
