St Brigid's Crosses in P7

30th Jan 2026

Well done to all our talented P7 children who have been busy learning how to make St Brigid’s crosses. It is wonderful to see this special Irish tradition carried on each year, helping our pupils connect with their heritage in a meaningful and hands‑on way.

The children worked thoughtfully and carefully to make a St Brigid’s cross for every family in the school, a kind gesture that reflects the spirit of generosity and protection associated with St Brigid.

Traditionally, St Brigid’s crosses are placed in homes to offer blessings, protection, and comfort throughout the year. As we celebrate her feast day on 1st February, we think of St Brigid’s values: kindness, hospitality, creativity, and care for others.

May St Brigid watch over and protect your homes in the year ahead, and may her spirit of warmth and welcome inspire us all.
