Viking Tour in Enniskillen Castle
Today P5/6 were fortunate enough to travel to Enniskillen Castle where we received an invaluable experience of what life was like back in the Viking age. P5/6 are currently studying the Viking’s as part of their World Around Us topic in class so they were able to share all their facts they have learned and learn some interesting new facts today. Caoimhe and Corey got to dress up as a typical married couple back in the Viking Day also. We were then guided to the historic part of the museum where we got to look at different artefacts and the famous Crannogs discovered here in Fermanagh! The children had lots of fun with their archaeological dig where they discovered many artefacts from the Viking Age. At the end the day the children got to design and make broaches that the Vikings would have used to pin their clothes together- they made these out of pasta and they turned out fantastic! Many thanks to Enniskillen Castle for offering us this invaluable experience!
